Conway

Conway is often referred to as "The City of Colleges." The city is the county seat of Faulkner County and has a population of more than 52,000, making it the eighth-largest city in Arkansas. Conway is the second fastest growing city in the state and home to three postsecondary educational institutions, the University of Central Arkansas, Hendrix College and Central Baptist College.

Conway was founded by A.P. Robinson, chief engineer for the Little Rock-Fort Smith Railroad, who moved to the area shortly after the Civil War.

Conway residents enjoy many opportunities for culture and arts. The Conway Symphony Orchestra performs many times throughout the year, and theatre and other art opportunities are easy to find, especially at the city's three colleges. The University of Central Arkansas's Public Appearances program provides a variety of dance, music, and theatre offerings each year.
